The Brazilian Cerrado is recognized as the richest savanna in the world, housing 11,627 species of native plants already cataloged.<br \/><br \/>In the last three decades, the Cerrado has been undergoing a process of intense degradation due to the advance of the Brazilian agricultural frontier in an unsustainable way.
